The United States is awash in an unprecedented number of workplace harassment cases. Harassment charges filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) during the 1980s totaled 19,434. During the 1990s, total EEOC harassment charges totaled 109,472 – more than a five-fold increase.
